I loved being the MP for Wantage and Didcot and wish I was still MP for the constituency now, but I wish my successor all the best for representing this wonderful constituency.
You've all had enough leaflets from me to mean I don't need to recite what I think we achieved during my time so this is just to say a few thank yous.
There are far too many people I owe thanks to to name them all individually but thank you to my fab parliamentary team and those who worked for me and moved on; thank you to the local association for all their support along the way and help in trying to get me re-elected; thank you to all those who came to volunteer from all over to help during the election campaign.
Thank you to all of those who voted for me. Thank you to everyone right the way across the constituency who was friendly, sometimes challenging, and helpful as I tried to help local people with problems.
Thank you too to everyone who supported me in my other role as Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing. Having been born on a council estate, both roles have been more than I could have imagined.
I've received hundreds of kind emails since the election result and I am hugely grateful to everyone who has sent one. Many are asking if I will stand for election again and at this stage it's just too early for me to know - but I'm very touched by the support and encouragement.
Thank you everyone.
