Before my visit to the North Berks Radio Model Aircraft Society (north of East Hanney on the A338, created in the time it was Berkshire), the only thing I had ever flown myself was one of those little polystyrene gliders with 3 pieces you get as a child. To be honest, I didn't quite fly these independently either, although it was nice to pretend. Open 365 days a year, NBRMAS has over 100 members, some of whom have been members since it started in the 1960s. I has a good chat with the members who were there at the time of my visit, all of whom are very passionate - do check them out if it’s your sort of hobby!
