I celebrated the Coronation by attending events across the constituency, starting in Wallingford where the Town Council put on a fun event at Centre 70, with a screening of the event, children's activities like Punch and Judy - and plenty of cakes!
After that, it was off to Grove where the great Ray Collins organised an afternoon tea for elderly residents to celebrate. Every guest told me how much they enjoyed it - and how stuffed they were! Well done to Ray, Cathy and the volunteers who I have arranged to go on a tour of Parliament in Summer and hope they enjoy it.
In Wantage Market Place, a good number of people came out despite the weather to celebrate and enjoy the music, food, Morris dancing and stalls.
I ended the day at Boundary Park in Didcot where there was a great celebration supported by Style Acre with music, food, games and lots of familiar stalls including Play2Give which I'm a patron of and the White Horse Soap Company. It was also my first time meeting Jenny and eating the produce of Berry Bakery from which I had a delicious chocolate orange 'bronut' (a doughnut-shaped brownie). Well done to everyone involved in putting it together! God save the King.
