I had a productive meeting with a group of Cholsey residents to discuss the appeal to the development off Papist Way. I supported the residents in making their concerns known to the Planning Inspectorate, but the development has now been called in by the Secretary of State. I will be writing to the Secretary of State to raise the concerns of residents directly with them, particularly the impact this development would have on local infrastructure.
We also discussed more general planning issues, much of which will be tackled by the Levelling Up Bill, including removing the requirement for a five year land supply if your plan is up to date. I gave a speech on this before recess that you can watch here.
