I am enthusiastically backing a bid for Didcot to become the new Headquarters of Great British Rail. GBR will replace Network Rail and be responsible for everything from setting ticket prices to managing rail infrastructure. I met with the Rail Minister to make the case for Didcot. Since 1844, Didcot has been a key railway junction - connecting passengers, tourists and cargo to and from London, Oxford and beyond. The shortlist will be announced in May (it is going to be a very tough competition) but I hope to see Didcot on it!
