I met with the Water Minister yesterday to again raise constituent concerns about the proposed reservoir and to call for public scrutiny of the proposal.
In December I wrote to the Environment Secretary about this, echoing GARD's call for public scrutiny and have been regularly raising constituent concerns with Thames Water and the Environment Agency, who I took to Steventon recently where I discussed it with them.
This comes after a lot of other work since I was elected, including working with GARD throughout; consistently advocating for the costs and impact to be clarified and alternatives to be given proper consideration; raising it in Parliament on several occasions including with the Prime Minister at PMQs; meeting with senior management from Thames Water and the WRSE; and responding to the various consultations on behalf of my constituents.
I will keep representing my constituents’ concerns re this.
