I am the Chair of the Community Energy APPG and lead sponsor of the Local Electricity Bill and I have spent the past several months working with the Government, specifically the Minister for Energy Networks, Andrew Bowie, to get support for community energy into the Energy Bill.

I'm delighted that this work has led to the creation of a £10 million Community Energy Fund which will open in the Autumn and which I hope community groups in this constituency and wider Oxfordshire will apply for.

When the Energy Bill comes back to the House of Commons next month there will be further good news for community energy too - so watch this space!
