“I made a special request that the year long Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme I'm taking part include a visit to the 11EOD Regiment in Didcot, the Scheme having kicked off at the Defence Academy of the UK in Shrivenham.
Yesterday we learnt more about how this vital regiment works every day to protect us here in the UK, as well as support other countries to search and safely dispose of explosive devices. While there is a limit to what can be said publicly, the chances are if you read in the paper about an incident anywhere in the UK, the regiment HQ'd at Vauxhall Barracks will have been involved in making sure people are safe.
We should all feel very proud to have its HQ here."
