With our local population continuing to grow, re-opening Grove Station would better connect people in the area, support local businesses and be good for the environment. I have been campaigning in parliament to re-open the station since I was elected.
I have now launched this petition to give local residents the opportunity to show their support and help us continue to make the case for the re-opening of Grove Station.
It will be open until November 1st, and I will then be presenting it in the House of Commons and sharing it with the Department for Transport.
The petition of the residents of the constituency of Wantage and Didcot.
Declares that Grove Station should be re-opened; notes that this is required due to the growing population of the local area; notes the economic benefits of improving connections to local businesses; notes the environmental benefits; and further notes the social benefits of ensuring people in the local area are better connected to friends and family.
The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges the Government to ensure that Grove Station is re-opened.
