I'm delighted to say that the National Audit Office - which has done reports previously on issues at organisations from British Steel to Equitable Life - has agreed to look at the case of the local AEAT Pensioners.
As some of you will know, we have lots of these pensioners in the constituency and they have spent 10 years trying to get their case looked at somewhere.
In the coming weeks, the NAO will publish the facts they have collected and the powerful Public Accounts Committee in Parliament will be undertaking an inquiry. The PAC has launched a call for evidence which can be submitted to until Sunday 5 March here.
It has taken a lot of effort to get to this point and I'm grateful to the MPs and Lords who have been part of the group I chair to push this case. Most of all I am grateful to the AEAT Pension Campaign whose members have been dogged in their campaigning.
